Forge & Bridle is written for anyone who has ever picked up a horseshoe and wondered how it actually got made, or what to do with one once it comes off.
The site covers three things: the craft itself (forging, fitting, tools), the trade around it (training, the law, the history), and what happens to a shoe afterwards - the keepsakes, the folklore and the small decisions involved in turning old iron into something worth keeping.
Written by Callum Yates, drawing on time spent around working forges and the farriers who use them, without claiming to be a substitute for professional training or veterinary advice. Anyone training toward the trade itself should start with the Worshipful Company of Farriers, the Farriers Registration Council and the British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association directly.
